What to Expect When Visiting The Dana on Mission Bay

Due to the current status of travel, health and safety, we know that San Diego visitors have many accommodation options when choosing to take a trip to our beautiful city. More than ever before, we are extremely honored when visitors choose us as their hosts. To ensure your safety and give you peace of mind when planning your getaway, we’ve done our best to make sure our guests have an incredible experience during their stay. Here’s what you can look forward to during your experience at The Dana on Mission Bay.

Your Safety First

Guest safety is, and always will be, the #1 priority at The Dana on Mission Bay. Even so, during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have redoubled our already-stringent efforts in order to ensure our guests experience a truly pristine stay. Safety precautions we’ve taken property-wide include: requiring the wearing of masks indoors (provided if needed), observing social-distancing protocols, installing hand-sanitizer stations, and implementing increased sterilization of high-traffic common areas (such as check-in, restaurant, etc.). In addition, we’ve updated our housekeeping policies to include suspending daily cleanings or turndown unless requested, enhanced sterilization after checkout, and replacing or removing items such as magazines and reusable glasses. In every case, we have met or exceeded industry-wide safety guidelines in order to make your time with us as safe as possible. For the full breakdown of updated property operations, head to our Your Safety First page.

Delicious Dining

Firefly Eatery & Bar offers outdoor seating, as well as convenient takeout for when you want to enjoy an intimate meal in your room. In accordance with California’s health and safety protocols, indoor dining is currently not available. However, guests are still welcome to enjoy an endless breakfast menu, all-day dining and tropical pool bar — all featuring local ingredients — including vegetables and herbs grown in our own on-site garden. You’ll also find a full range of local microbrews, carefully curated wines, and an impressive list of inventive cocktails.

Pedal-Pushers Rejoice

Guests at The Dana who want to cruise Mission Bay like the locals are welcome to avail themselves of our on-site bicycle rentals. Riders can choose from single and tandem-style bikes, and head out to explore the area at their leisure. It’s fun for the whole family!

Cinema With a Splash

Who doesn’t love the classic drive-in movie experience? Here at The Dana, we’ve updated that idea with a distinct SoCal twist. Every night at 8pm (weather permitting), we host a “Dive-In” Movie in our Tropical Pool. Guests are invited to splash and swim while watching their favorite family-friendly film. Dive-In Movie schedules are available at the front desk.

Catch a Wave

Feeling adventurous? Get wet and wild out on the Pacific! Guests can choose from a variety of sporty options and spend the day exploring Mission Bay from their own watercraft. Wave runners, stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, pontoon boats, and ski boats are all available for guest rental. More interested in hitting the water on a surfboard? Channel that SoCal spirit with surfing lessons for the whole family. We’ve partnered with Pacific Surf School to help get you out on the water. Day camps and lessons for the kids are also available. Guests can also enjoy a full range of fun, adventuresome water sports.

Enhance Your Nama-Stay

Whether you’re an experienced yogi or have been looking to give yoga a try, we’ve got your class. The Dana has partnered with NXPT Fitness to bring yoga back to The Dana for the month of August. Guests can stop by and participate for free by signing up at the front desk. Get your stretch on in a safe and socially distant setting while taking in beautiful marina views. We’ll also be offering a Fitness Boot Camp on Tuesdays at 6 pm.

We look forward to welcoming you during your stay in sunny San Diego! If there is anything we can do to make your visit more comfortable or convenient, please don’t hesitate to ask. We’re here to help.
