Things to Do with Dad in San Diego

Father’s Day is right around the corner, and plenty of families will be flocking to sunny San Diego for the holiday. Spend the day with Dad enjoying the best parts of the city. Check out craft breweries around, catch a local sporting event, or get active with some outdoor activity.

Hang out at a Local Brewery

San Diego is known for its award-winning craft beer scene. If your dad is a beer fan, treat him to a tour of the city’s most popular breweries. Some of our favorites are Stone Brewery in Liberty Station, Amplified Aleworks in Pacific Beach, and Pizza Port in Ocean Beach. View a full list of San Diego breweries and where to find them.

Take Dad out to the Ballgame

Baseball season is here and the San Diego Padres are back in action. Head to Petco Park for a day of baseball, beers, and peanuts with Dad. Be sure to check the schedule beforehand and take part in one of the park’s fun theme nights.

Spend a Day on the Green

What better way to enjoy the summer weather than playing a round of golf? Book a tee time at one of San Diego’s scenic golf courses and enjoy a lovely day out. For some local history, try one of San Diego’s most historic courses, The Loma Club, which has been around since the early 1900s. If you’re up for a challenge, head to Tecolote Canyon Golf Course, which is known for its abundance of hazards. Tecolote Canyon is just a quick 12-minute drive from The Dana.

Sail Away & Have Some Fun

Hit the open ocean to celebrate Father’s Day. Rent a boat from Adventure Watersports, located at The Dana on Mission Bay, and cruise around the bay or out into the Pacific. Adventure Watersports offers a range of rental options, including jet skis, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and more!

Enjoy BBQ & Beers

Stop by Firefly Eatery & Bar at The Dana for our annual Dad’s Day BBQ & Beer event, held from 11am to 9pm. No matter what plans you have for Father’s Day, stop by before or after for beef brisket, baby back ribs, baked potatoes, and beer flights. Call 619-225-2125 for reservations.
