2019 Del Mar National Horse Show
April 16 – May 5, 2019
A can’t-miss event in the horse show circuits, the Del Mar National Horse Show has been among the most important events in equestrian sports for nearly three-quarters of a century. The event is held at the Del Mar Fairgrounds and showcases more than 1,500 horses of varying breeds across as range of specialties, including Western, Dressage, and Hunter/Jumper.
2019 USA Surfing Championships
June 12 – June 22, 2019
Head up the coast and experience one of the premier US surfing events of the year: the 2019 USA Surfing Championships. This competition will include a variety of styles including adaptive, longboard, SUP and Junior Teams. Cheer on the contestants as they compete to secure a spot on the official USA Surf Team.

Flower Fields of Carlsbad

A local favorite spring event, the Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch attracts more than 100,000 visitors each year. Explore the dazzling colors on display along this hillside ranch. The flower fields are made up of ranunculus flowers in a rainbow of colors. Stroll along the colorful paths or set up a picnic while you enjoy the warm spring weather.
Japanese Friendship Garden of San Diego
Nestled in the popular Balboa Park, the Japanese Friendship Garden consists of eleven acres of trails made complete with a bonsai exhibit, black pine trees, azaleas, camellias, and – of course – cherry blossom trees. This unique park is the perfect setting for a nature-filled spring afternoon.
