Our Favorite Views in San Diego

While it’s no secret that San Diego is beautiful, some of its best kept secrets have to be its secluded views. We uncover some of our favorite places to catch a sunset (or sunrise!) and even tell you how to get there.

1.) Sunset Cliffs
Sunset Cliffs is nestled into the cliffs of Point Loma, and boasts a gorgeous vista of the Pacific coast line. And being only a short drive (or bike ride) from the Dana, this is the perfect spot to catch the sunset with someone special. Be sure to keep an eye out for the gray whales!

2.) La Jolla Cove
The swaying palm trees, clear blue water, and natural rock formations really make La Jolla Cove feel more like a private tropical island than a beach in San Diego. This is a great spot to spend the day, and even better to stick around for the sunset!

3.) Cabrillo National monument
Another can’t-miss spot in the Point Loma area is the historic Cabrillo National Monument. Dedicated as a park to commemorate the first European to step foot on the West coast of the United States, Portugal native Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, this park has amazing views, a picturesque lighthouse that sits atop the cliff, and a visitor’s center detailing the voyages and discovers of Cabrillo.

4.) SeaWorld Fireworks
Perhaps one of the best views in town isn’t too far from the Dana: your San Diego hotel room! Our hotel has the perfect view for the extravagant and magical fireworks from SeaWorld. If you missed the special 4th of July fireworks, every night from the July 4 through July 7, don’t worry!  They will also do a special encore on Labor Day weekend. See our concierge about timing and details.
