Cruise San Diego offers a variety of chartered events on the yacht Ohana — a vessel built for the famous Wrigley family in 1960. In addition to making themselves available for leisurely treks and sightseeing tours, Cruise San Diego also books private dinner cruises above the craft. Best of all, they depart from a dock that’s less than a five-minute walk from our front door! Take a look at their schedule here, and book your adventure.

Next Level Sailing (4.5 miles)

Speaking of whale watching, San Diego is one of the best spots along the West Coast to spot pods of gray whales as they make their annual 10,000-mile migration to cooler northern waters. December is the beginning of the season, but the migratory patterns of these majestic ocean behemoths can last for months. Spotting whales from shore is not uncommon, but our friends at Next Level Sailing offer trips that get you up close.

Sail JADA (5.2 miles)

The JADA is a famed wooden racing yacht that was built in 1938 to be the fastest boat of its day. And it rose to that goal, winning several speed trials during its active years of competition. Rumor has it that the ship’s race days came to a close after it was purchased by actor Marlon Brando sometime in the early 1970s. Today, the JADA is one of San Diego’s preëminent sailing charters, offering elegant cruises to the adventuresome.
