Meet Firefly’s New Chef, Rodney Robinson
We’ve got a new Chef in town! Meet Firefly Eatery & Bar’s new Executive Chef, Rodney Robinson.
Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Chef Rodney Robinson started his culinary career as local fine-dining restaurants. Starting as a prep cook/dishwasher, his goal was to work his way towards being a cook on the line. He recalls peeling potatoes and chopping onions, thinking to himself… “I’m going to be the Chef one day, so be patient and be ready for when your turn comes.”
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE TO TODAY:
Several years later, that opportunity came, but not without hard work. Chef Rodney completed his Culinary Arts Apprenticeship with Hyatt Regency Hotels. He’s now been in the culinary arts field for over 25 years, boasting a diverse pedigree that includes hotels, convention centers and free standing restaurants.
His goals of becoming a Chef were reached… he’s managed culinary brigades as Sous Chef, Banquet Chef, Chef de Cuisine, Executive Sous Chef, and Executive Chef.
Chef Rodney held Executive Chef titles at Marriott & Hilton hotel companies, as well. Now, we are lucky to have him here at The Dana, as Executive Chef at Firefly Eatery & Bar.
WORDS OF INSPIRATION:
25 years after his start in Detroit, Chef Rodney still has that same “hunger” for the culinary arts field as he did when he was peeling potatoes and chopping onions.
