What to See and Do at San Diego Beer Week
San Diego Beer Week is the annual event where local vendors and breweries from around California and the San Diego area gather to celebrate the brewing and beer culture of the community. San Diego is home to over 130 breweries and micro-brews, and has earned a prominent reputation in the brewing culture.
Here are some events and breweries that we’re excited to see.
As the kickoff party to San Diego Beer Week, Guild Fest is sponsored by the local Brewer’s Guild and celebrates the close knit brewing community of San Diego. Over 60 independent brewers and microbrews will set up shop to give out free samples to attendees, talk shop with home brewers, and even sell specialty and limited addition brews. It’s a great way to kick off a brew-tiful week!
Nomad Donuts and Beer pairing
The name of the event should say it all…but they had us at Nomad Donuts. Our friends in North Park serve of eclectic and artisanal flavored donuts and pastries, and always have something new to try on their rotating and seasonal menu. So delicious donuts paired with refreshing local brews? We’re in. Head to this special tasting session for curated pairings of limited edition donuts specially made to pair with beers from Thorn Brewery.
The first rule of flight club is…okay, it’s not that kind of flight. Head over to North Park Beer Company during Beer Week and earn your wings as dedicated “flight attendants” take you through a tour of their rotating flights in house!
The closing event of San Diego Beer Week is always a good time. Held at the scenic Arroyo Terrace of the Lodge at Torrey Pines, the stunning views and accompanying local brews are sure to give you a good night in San Diego.
As always, our own Firefly Eatery & Beer has a great rotating list of beers from the local San Diego Brew Scene. Stop by happy hour any day of the week and try a tasty pint!
