Do you reward yourself for getting in your runs with chocolate? If so, you'll love the Hot Chocolate 5K run in San Diego, happening March 26. It's the sweetest race ever, and you can do either 5K or 15K races in San Diego, depending on your energy level and stamina.
This is a fun run raising money for Ronald McDonald House charity, and to make sure you're in the best shape to enjoy it, you'll get a training plan before the race. The race starts in Petco park before running through the San Diego streets.
You'll get a chocolate reward for finishing, plus a chocolate bar-shaped gold medal, but you'll also find sweet stations along the route where you can refuel with chocolate chips and M&Ms, plus water and electrolyte drinks at aid stations.
After the race, enjoy the Post-Race Party. You'll collect a finisher's mug filled with various kinds of chocolate and enjoy a DJ and other fun. You can also check out the Expo, which runs on March 24 and 25, with vendors showing off their fitness wares.
Then spend time enjoying the rest of the sights of San Diego. Whether you love the water, want to visit world-class museums, or have an interest in California's pioneer history, you'll find plenty of attractions, all easily reached from The Dana on Mission Bay. Or you could choose to simply relax and soak out your post-race soreness in the pool/spa. Of course, a post-race massage at The Dana is another great way to unwind after the race. Between raising money, chocolate and the amenities at The Dana, you're sure to feel great after finishing the Hot Chocolate 5K.
