There's great college football in San Diego when the Holiday Bowl brings top teams here on December 28. Plan your visit to San Diego to focus on the game or enjoy the other great events that happen during the week.
Focus on the Game
If you're a true football fan, fill your week with events focused on the sport. Get started at the Kickoff Luncheon on 12/27. The teams' bands will play, there'll be highlight videos, and you'll have a chance to interact with the coaches and players.
Then head to the stadium on game day 12/28. Kickoff is at 6pm, but get there early and head to either FanZone or the VIP Tailgate Party for extra fun. FanZone offers a chance to work on your own football skills with interactive challenges, plus enjoy food truck munchies and a beer garden. The VIP tailgate party features bands, cheerleaders, food, wine, and beer.
Make your way to your seat in time for the pregame show. The American Flag will stretch the length of the field and there'll be parachute jumpers and other exciting entertainment.
Finally settle in and enjoy the game. The excitement on the field includes a great half-time show.
Focus on the Fun
Even if you aren't a football fanatic, there are great game-related events for you to enjoy in downtown San Diego. You don't have to miss out on the great marching bands even if you don't get to the stadium; check them out in action at the Carrier Johnson + Culture Marching Band Showcase in the Gaslamp District on 12/27.
Chow down on a healthy breakfast to fuel up for the Solar Turbines 5K Run/Walk on 12/28. The waterfront race ends in time for you to catch the Holiday Bowl Parade. If you don't do the run, you can see the parade from the street or from the grandstand.
The Dana on Mission Bay is perfectly located to get you to the game day events on time. Celebrate your favorite team's victory at the end of the day with drinks in our Firefly Eatery, then settle down to sweet dreams in your luxurious room. Click here to make reservations.
