Add some spice to your San Diego dining experience with a visit to the Latin Food Fest on August 18-19. The two-day event is a celebration of Latin flavors in all forms of food, wine, and spirits. Through cooking demos, tastings, and encounters with chefs, you'll experience the best of Latin food trends. Here's some of what's happening at the food festival.
Friday, August 18
Kick off a tasty weekend with the Latin Supperclub and segue your way through a six-course tasting featuring food inspiration from around South America. The Summer Carnival adds Latin music and dance to the night's festivity, with samba, tapas, and cocktails.
Saturday, August 19
The festival is in full swing on Saturday. The Gran Tasting pulls together Latin-inspired food and beverages from the Old Country (Spain & Portugal) and the Americas (Central & South America, plus the Caribbean and Mexico). The pleasure is enhanced by the setting, a tent in the Embarcadero park near the water, along with music for dancing. The Mercado brings Latin street food to a market experience where you can enjoy the best street foods from around the Latino world. Cooking demonstrations mean you can recreate the great tastes once you return home.
